Indian Ocean Swim – Floreat SLSC

The event is a standout on the racing calendar, offering swimmers an early chance to secure their Rottnest or Port to Pub qualification in a low key and friendly environment.

The 2024 edition saw 104 competitors line up across four distances. The conditions were favorable, with sunny skies and just enough shore break to make for an exciting surf club swim. However, an hour into the race, the wind picked up, challenging the 5k and 10k swimmers and forcing several to cut their attempts short.

As always, the Floreat SLSC delivered a flawless organisation, and the generous selection of snacks at the finish line was a welcome treat for all swimmers.
